FINISHH - Kerrang Magazine Contents Page and Double Page Spread Analysis

The above image is of two Kerrang contents pages. At first glance, there is a clear sense of consistency, especially so with the colour scheme and layout of the page. The black, yellow and white colour scheme is present throughout both pages, which mainly stands out in the 'Contents' title. Just underneith the contents title there is quotes on each content page, with the persons name in bold and how they are known, which draws attention to the reader. An example of this is on the left hand the bold text has 'Metallica' in, which a fan of rock would be drawn to since they are arguably one of the biggest bands ever.

In the top left hand corner there is an image of the front cover of the magazine, and a small paragraph of text summing up the particular magazine issue. On both magazines there is several images of different bands or members of bands which will catch readers eyes if they see a particular famous person that they enjoy reading about/listening to their music. On these images, there is page numbers which informs the reader of which page they have to go to in order to read more about the story.

The common part of the contents page which simply has the headings of the articles and then page numbers is also present in a consistent manner on both of the contents pages, at the right of the page. The title 'This Week' is used at the top of the section and then several eye-catching sub-headings are used to draw attention from readers, including words such as 'icons' 'features' 'live reviews' and 'famous last words'. These sub-headings will catch a readers eye and make them want to read more about the particular subject.
